VOLCANO now featuring a factory-installed drip tray

VTS Group is introducing a significant change to its range of VOLCANO VR4 and VRmini3 heating units. The units are now fitted with an integrated stainless steel drip tray.

This solution simplifies installation, enhances the unit's durability and improves the reliability of condensate drainage.

What has changed?

Previously, the drip tray was supplied as a separate plastic component. The installer had to fit it themselves at the installation site. In practice, this resulted in an additional installation step, longer installation times and a risk of improper tray fitting.

In the new solution, the drip tray is integrated into the unit during the manufacturing process. This eliminates the need for any additional assembly work by the installer. Furthermore, the use of stainless steel increases the component’s durability and mechanical strength compared with the previous composite solution.

Key advantages of the new solution:

•        Shorter and simpler installation – eliminating the step of fastening the external drip tray helps reduce installation time. This is particularly beneficial in projects involving multiple unit installations.
•       Reliable condensate drainage – the integrated design ensures controlled and leak-proof collection of condensate. It minimizes the risk of incorrect tray positioning and leakage at connection points.
•       More robust construction – stainless steel is highly resistant to deformation, impact and stresses caused by temperature changes. As a result, the tray retains its performance characteristics throughout the unit's service life, without the risk of cracks or deformation typical of less resistant materials.

•      Protection of the appliance’s structure and appearance – the new, factory-integrated tray eliminates the need to fasten it to the unit casing. As a result, installation does not require any modifications to the unit casing, and the unit maintains a cleaner and more consistent appearance.

Technical details

The integrated drip tray is factory-installed in VOLCANO VR4 and VRmini3 models. It features an additional support bracket that acts as the tray's load-bearing element.

Implementing the new solution required a redesign of the mounting console. However, the new console remains compatible with existing installations, which simplifies servicing and potential unit replacement.
